At St. Mark Lutheran Church we care for the hurting in our community and give back as an expression of our faith. We are the hands and feet of Jesus in our world.
​Thirty quilts are being blessed this Sunday and will be donated to the Lutheran World Relief. Five of our church ladies gather once a month to make the quilts. The quilts are then given to people in their time of greatest need, here in the United States and worldwide.
First and foremost, recipients use their LWR Quilts to shield against the cold and rain, and for warm bedding. But their versatility also makes quilts useful as simple tents, floor coverings, room dividers, or a wrap to hold a baby on a mother’s back.
Each year, an average of 300,000 quilts are donated from churches throughout the US.
